Purpose/ The creation of the Special Interest Project for Assistive Technology and Learning Disabilities is founded in the exploration of the benefits assistive technology (AT) can bring to students with learning disabilities. Assistive technology offers a large number of tools and resources to be utilized in the classroom by classroom teachers, administrators, support staff, and special education teachers.
Lauren's focus in the exploration of this content is to expand her content knowledge in learning disabilities and how best to assist struggling students in her classroom with the technological affordances in her district.
